Title  :  Oracle DBA

Location :  San Francisco, California

Position Description :

         Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues
         Actively monitor databases to ensure secure availability and performance within internal and       external   SLAs
         Monitor and ensure that the various database backup operations are successful
         Maintain, create, and monitor various ETL processes
         Establish and maintain appropriate end-user database control levels
         Work with application development and production support staff to provide guidance and ensure adherence to coding standards
         Create reports required for internal and external clients
         Deploy database scripts to production in a continuous development environment
         Proactively monitor and request physical data storage for database systems
        Escalate problems to the senior DBAs and/or development teams as appropriate

Required Skills:

         Minimum of 5+ years of Oracle DBA experience 9i - 11g
         Strong PL-SQL skills required
         Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices
         Recent hands-on experience designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting database servers
         Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience
         Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities
         Ability to conduct research into database issues, standards, and products as required
         Highly self-motivated and directed
         Keen attention to detail
         A positive attitude in a high-pressure environment is required
        Strong customer service orientation
         Good written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills
